Lokayukta Post Remains Vacant In Goa | Delay Raises Accountability Concerns

Goa has been without a Lokayukta—the state’s anti-corruption ombudsman—for complete six months. Since Justice Ambadas Joshi’s word ended successful December 2024, nary successor has been appointed, leaving 20 complaints unresolved. Despite nan process starting successful February 2025, there’s been nary shortlist, nary consultations, and nary explanation. This study explores nan delay, nan 2021 amendments that weakened nan Lokayukta’s powers, and nan increasing concerns complete accountability and governance. Featuring voices from crossed Goa’s governmental spectrum, we ask: is this hold by design?
